The Exhibition was only open for 4 hours this afternoon and there was a reasonable turnout for the official opening by the local MP, but it was mostly very quiet with only a few sales. Some of the work in the exhibition though is outstanding. The photography section - only small has some great items and I love the one who got first prize. One of the watercolours of the wharf is also brilliant. So many diverse styles. The sculpures and needlework items are interesting and the wood turning is beautiful. There was a good variety of styles in the Jewellery section with some of the pieces made by other members of the Bead Guild of WA so it is thrilling to be able to say that I won 1st prize in the Wearable Jewellery section with Deandra - a metal and crystal piece. Tomorrow (Sunday 17th October) the exhibition is open from 9.30 to 4.30 with entertainment and the award ceremony during the afternoon, so hopefully more people will visit during the day and sales will improve a bit.
