Maxine Faye - Handcrafted Unique & Custom-made Jewellery
Me, Maxine, holding our youngest grandchild (cropped out of picture)About Me

I’m a Western Australian Designer creating unique and individual items from “fun'n'funky” to “classic”.

I grew up on a farm just west of Maya, Western Australia, where my parents were share-farmers.  Later my parents bought a small farm in Latham, about 9 miles away.

Both are on the Northam-Mullewa Highway, about 310km north-east of Perth. Latham is on the edge of the Murchison goldfields noted for its wildflowers and gemstones, although grain growing is the main commercial enterprise.  North and east of Latham it gets pretty sparse and barren, and just to the east of town is the extraordinarily-long “Rabbit Proof” fence that runs north to south in WA in an attempt to keep out vermin such as dingoes and rabbits.

I met my husband when working for a local Shire Council and we moved to Bibra Lake in 1985 and have been here ever since.

One of the wonderful little birds at Bibra Lake. Taken on the bird hide jettyWe love the lake, its parklands and its wildlife, and are both passionate about stopping the Roe 8 Highway from going through this wonderful reserve.  I would much rather show my grandchildren beautiful wetlands with its diverse range of flora and wildlife and Noongar heritage than an expensive and unnecessary strip of bitumen.

Aura Soma System I also love colour and light. I have studied Colour Therapy using the Aura Soma System to the Advanced Level under Alysea McArtney, a wonderful and generous teacher.

Colour through its various forms can benefit the physical, mental and spiritual states.Colour through its various forms can benefit the physical, mental and spiritual states.  I have included some information on Colour and Chakras on my website, but for complete and private consultation please contact a qualified practitioner.

I have always had an interest in arts and crafts and have dabbled in many forms including leadlight, folk art, macramé, Batik, sewing, knitting, crochet, scrapbooking and during my 25+ years of working in Children's Services I have tried many media styles (some more successful than others).

It was my first beading lesson though (in 2003) that really got me hooked and I have had the beading bug ever since.  I love the ever expanding variety of mediums to choose from and meeting such a wide and diverse group of people with a similar interest and passion.  I am a member of The Bead Guild of WA (Inc)

Gemstone - Carnelian
Gemstones and Crystals is exciting. It is these combinations of colour and texture and the "feel" of the beads that inspire my original designs.  I am constantly experimenting with, adapting new techniques into my designs and using a wide variety of materials to create just the right "look".
Freshwater Pearl and Swarovski Crystal earrings

I enjoy working with the naivety, almost primitiveness of some handmade glass, the precision and sparkle of Swarovski crystal and the organic feel of semi-precious gemstones, freshwater pearls and Bali silver.

As the sole designer, artisan and owner of MaxineFaye, handcrafted individual and custom-made jewellery and beadwork, I have control of all aspects of my business and can work hand in hand with each client to provide a design that suits their style or needs.

If you are after something magical, then please look around the website.  I'm sure there will be something that will attract your attention.

My designs cover several price ranges, from simple glass earrings through to gemstone creations worth hundreds of dollars.

Several of the designs can be tailored to individual requirements and I am always happy to discuss this option with you.  I can also create custom-made pieces on commission

I occasionally sell at local Markets, Fairs, Exhibitions and other Events.

Our front yard where we have Barramundi, Trout and sometimes Perch growning. Yum!Our front yard is home to many frogs, fish (Trout, Perch, Brim or Barramundi) and aquatic plants (both food and flowering) similar to the aquaponics system.

We live on the edge of a Natural Reserve surrounding a lake and are visited by many birds and wildlife such as turtles, snakes, bandicoots and birds, (some more welcome than others).

It is this wonderful and soul nourishing environment that I create my designs and make them with the Love and Care that I wish you to receive.

Only after the last tree has been cut down, Only after the last river has been poisoned, Only after the last fish has been caught, Only then will you find money cannot be eaten.
